Public Notice:

The Halal Committe of the Islamic Council of WA would like to announce to the Muslim Public about certain products sold at our halal certified outlets, such as bacon and ham which have been mistaken for pork or pig, as the names suggest, but we hereby assure Muslim customers that those products have nothing to do with pork or pig, as they are actually beef bacon or beef ham which are produced by halal butchers and small goods outlets from beef (cow meat). The outlets have used these terms only to meet the need of non-Muslim customers, so that all customers can benefit. Halal Bread: Following investigation by ICWA Halal Committee, breads manufactured by the following companies do not contain any animal by-product, as E471 and E481. They use only vegetable gum.

Announcement (15th of March, 2002)

Due to the demand for Halal ready-to-eat chicken products from the Muslim community in Perth, the Halal Committee of the Islamic Council of WA would like to re-affirm the followings:

Mighty Cockerel (Shop 8, Coolibah Plaza, Coolibah Drive, Greenwood) is a Halal shop certified by the ICWA Halal Committee
Charcoal Chicken Co. (Shop 8, Huntingdale Village Shopping Centre, Huntingdale Rd, Huntingdale) is a Halal shop certified by the ICWA Halal Committee
Charcoal Chicken House (Shop 1-3, 910 Albany HWY, East Victoria Park) is a Halal shop certified by the ICWA Halal Committee
KFC, Chicken Treat and Red Rooster shops are not certified by the ICWA Halal Committee as Halal shops.
Only INGHAM CHICKEN, PRODUCED IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA is Halal certified by the ICWA Halal Committee
